English Soccer History – Early Days

It's hard to determine exactly how soccer became so popular in England in the 19th century, but the truth is that in the mid 19th century, almost every major town had a semi-professional soccer team. These teams were usually associations of workers from the same factory or institution or simply students at a local University.

Matches between those teams were played occasionally, with little to no prize, but only for competition's sake. However, these matches were played without any rules or a referee and as soccer isn't necessarily a sport that's completely clean of violence, all it took was a harsh tackle or an argument about a particular rule to start a bloody fight between the two teams and their supporters.

As with basketball, soccer is a game with players who perform a specific role. A team is comprised of eleven positions. There is one goalkeeper or goalie, and ten others who have to defend attack or take up midfield positions. Each role has a specific set of skills and a specific area to deal with.

Goalie or Goalkeeper

It is the goalie’s who has to prevent the opponents from scoring a goal. This person is the only one who can touch the ball with their hands and they can only move within a certain area of the field.

Defenders or Defensive Positions

These positions help the goalie prevent opponents from scoring a goal. Like the goalie, they are restricted to a certain area of the field.

If you look at teams that are the best in your state, you will find that they all have one thing in common, and that is team chemistry. Coaches know that it is something that cannot be taught in practice, but is something that happens over a period of time by playing them together. How do you go about winning a state soccer title? There are different opinions on how you go about doing this. One of them, if it is possible, is to start them playing together while they are still in kindergarden, and also have them play different sports together as they grow, including soccer. This is done so that not only will they learn different skills, but also each others reactions to different situations.

You should hope that some of their dads coached their teams, and played them at the same level, without moving them up to a more competetitive leel.

This is done to build their confidence, because it doesn't matter what place they finish in, because all they will remember is that they had fun playing.

As they grow to be teenagers there will be one house where they will congregate most at, because that house will have plenty of soda and pizza on friday nights.

They will grow up attending each others birthday parties, confirmations, barmitzvahs and also all other holiday celebrations. They will learn what makes each other tick. They will also celebrate when a fellow player is recognized for hi or her achievements in sports or academics.

1. Proper Gear and Equipment

Equip yourself with a proper gear that gives you the "feel good" factor. It doesn't matter what others think but more importantly is that you feel comfortable and ready to play freestyle soccer. Typically freestylers prefer three quarter pants and a t-shirt along with a pair of futsal shoes or trainers.

2. Warming-Ups

It's crucial to Warm-up yourself starting with a light jog, normally 2-3 rounds on court before freestyling. You'll gradually loosen up those muscles through jogging and stretching to prevent from any injuries and improve your overall performance in freestyle.

3. Juggle the ball

The first step to your freestyle is to go back to basics, juggling a ball. Simply by throwing the ball at waist height and kick it as it falls. Repeat the same steps and try to do it without throwing the ball in the air. You should improve your touches, balance and coordination with the ball.

It’s not surprising to know that it’s soccer conditioning which serves as a platform for the success of any team. It is because of soccer exercises which build strength, agility, and endurance that players manage to stay in shape and thus dream to become match winners for their team.

Still, your team or you may face situations where there is paucity of time to train ahead of a tournament. But you don’t need to compromise on the conditioning exercises because of this. You would not want to see your players down with injuries either previous to the match or in the match.

A well planned soccer fitness training course has the capacity to fully train the players even in less that 3 days time. It only needs some good quality planning, and sincerity in its execution. There are one or two tips which work well with short but successful training plans.

Warming up: Tell the players to kick off with any of these; a five minute jog, heel flicks, high knees, or jumping. Take time to relax for a while in between. Then tone the muscles up by doing some stretching exercises for 5 minutes. These soccer workouts must include every important muscle group in it.
